-1st and 2nd graders from Smilie Elementary played their first fitness packed game in PE that involved money. Which team would get the correct amount of money the fastest? This was the goal of the game "What's In Your Piggy Bank?" The objective was physical fitness (running laps the whole class!), as well as money recognition and fair play (students were only allowed to grab one item from the bank in the middle at a time).
When adding fun pieces (which group will collect the most money or the correct amount of money?) to a rather boring task such as running laps around a gym, students forget about the running and focus on the end result filling their teams hula hoop with a lot of loot! Congrats to the three students pictured above on being the first to achieve their sheets task in this game.
