A good day for some Financial Literacy in PE!!!

Students at Smilie Elementary today completed the game "Cold Hard Cash."  The objective was to be the group/team that had the most money at the end of the game.  Students had to earn $5 Dollars through exercise (every student was moving at all times) and then cash it in to buy a "bucket."

Students ate this game up!  They loved that they were positively competing against their classmates, using what looked like real money, gambling somewhat to figure out what bucket to uncover and then the anxiety/agony of what bill (10,20,50, and 100's) they were going to find under the purchased bucket was awesome to see!

That was a fun lesson to teach and watch!
