-Turning the skill centers we do into games/challenges is what I love to do. I believe it stimulates more engagement in our students. I have done a Hockey unit for the past three years, the 4th graders at Smilie Elementary students have really mastered the fundamentals of the grip and how to receive and push a pass to a partner.
When these 4th grade boys got to this center all they did was grab a stick and got in a corner. One student starts with the puck. The person he decides to pass to he shouts their name so they get ready to receive it. This goes on and on for the 5 minute center. Some great passing came out of this center. This was a well executed drill/game.
