"OutBreak" and "Launch It!" make for a FUN day...

In keeping with the theme of first six weeks of school, which is getting to know each other, problem solving, cooperation and positive competition.  It was only fitting to have 3rd and 4th graders play the game of "Launch It!" (First four pictures above).  "Launch It!" involves students getting into groups of 2 or 3, receiving a sling shot and ball.  When the game begins groups problem solve the best way to Launch a ball across the gym in the air hitting the opposite wall.  Each successful hit, is a point rewarded for the students.

K-1-2 got to build off "Color Germ Tag" and play "OutBreak."  Students were assigned to a color country and had to steal as much medicine as they could to heal their country.  Two students were also "Germ Spreaders" who attempted to capture players with medicine in their hand and freeze them and make them sick.  Only students from the same color country can save frozen countrymates. 

Students are demonstrating the expected behaviors in these activities and learning a lot about themselves and their classmates.  Most of all students are having FUN while moving, I believe this happens through stimulating their imaginations and giving them the scenarios such as the game "OutBreak."
